I loathe thee...

Fun fact of the day: I hate cats.

:)
I think they are pests that stink and whine a lot. When they starting using Punk's sandbox as their own personal dumping grounds my personal preference of immensely disliking them was solidified.

Any solutions on keeping the cats out? Anyone? Anyone?

Oh that's just awful! I'm not a cat hater but my ex was and in Cody a stray cat was considered a rodent and was legal to shoot:(

  2. stray cats are no fun. they go in my square foot garden! not as bad as a sandbox, tho, for sure. I looooove my 2 indoor kitties... :D however I'd like it if they would use the toilet!

  3. Ha ha ha ha. I don't hate cats (I have one), but I do remember my mom ripping our sandbox apart (she may have been cussing) when we were kids for the same reason. They'll get into it no matter what. It's prime potty land. You need a lid. :o)

  4. i just thought of something! it looks like a pretty good sized sandbox, but maybe you could make some kind of lid for it... out of sheet metal, or treated plywood, or something like that. use hinges to attach it to the box, with a handle and a latch, and voila!

  5. We have the biggest cat problem! Thanks to two of our neighbours. We can't do a sand box for the man cubs because of it. I also have a hard time weeding the garden due to the land mines. This year has been the worst by far though. I'm finding them all over my beautiful lawn. Yuck!
A live trap with a can a Tuna Fish works well. Use you imagination with what to do next. With the blood line that you come from I have no douts in you.

  6. Ugh, I HATE cats too... well most of them. Our neighborhood has a half dozen stray cats. Our neighbor (who introduced herself to us as "Mrs Kravitz... like on Bewitched") is the one who feeds them. Well guess which house they go to to pee/poop/spray and do other thing that I can't mention? Yep. Ours. I'm thinking of upgrading my regular tazer to one that shoot out those little barb thingies. kidding... but not really : X

  7. We live in the country so we have a lot of stray cats. Our has fence walls(roll fencing), a roof, and a door for the kids so come and go out of for that reason. You could also built some sort of lid for it.

  11. Ive used moth balls in our mulch and it has worked. Not sure how it would work for a kids sandbox but maybe around it perhaps in little nylon bags?(cut off $1 store knee highs and make little bags) that way you get the smell but the kids don't put them in their mouth? It's the smell that keeps them away. Good Luck :D

  12. Red pepper flakes found in the spices aisle of the supermarket aisle are what we sprinkled in our wood chips to keep cats away. They walk on the flakes & the oil & scent get on the cat paws.

  13. I second that. Our little sandbox suffered the same fate so I'm reading your comments. Hope you can keep them away!

  15. They sell a sprinkler/hose attachment called a scarecrow. It senses motion and sprays water at whatever creature is around. :)
